Sameer Mathur is a Marketing professor at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Lucknow, India, since 2013. He was previously a Marketing Professor at McGill University, Canada (2009-13). He received a Ph.D. and Masters in Marketing from Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business (2003-2009).
He has taught courses related to (i) Data Analytics and Marketing Research; (ii) Brand Management; (iii) International Marketing; (iv) Marketing Management at three prestigious academic institutions, namely (i) IIM Lucknow, India; (ii) McGill University, Canada and (iii) Carnegie Mellon University, USA.
His research focuses on pricing and promotions strategies, especially related to hospitality, tourism and retailing. His research related to hotel pricing and tourism has been published in international, peer-reviewed journals such as “Tourism Economics”; “Tourism Recreation Research” (ABDC ‘A’ category journals). He also serves on the Editorial Board of “Tourism Recreation Research”. His research related to pricing and promotion strategies in Marketing has been published in international, peer-reviewed journals such as “International Journal of Production Research”; “International Journal of Industrial Organization”; “Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services” (all ABDC ‘A’ category journals).
He enjoys watching movies, cricket and traveling in his spare time.
