    Finance and Accounting

    Vikas Srivastava is Professor in the area of Finance and Accounts at IIM Lucknow. Earlier he was the Dean of Programmes and Member of IIML Board from 2022-25 and also the ONGC Chair of Finance from 2021-25. He is a MBA, PhD and a visiting Doctoral Fellow at the Helsinki School of Economics under a scholarship by the European Union. His primary research areas are Project Finance, Corporate Banking and Credit Risk Management. He has conducted more than 226 specialized training programs mostly for Government, Public Sector and Banks based in India, South Asia, Central Europe and Africa. He was also an Advisor to Axis Bank Corporate Banking and Project Finance Group. He has handled consulting assignments for IFC Washington and ADB Manila on Sustainable Lending, besides giving consulting and training support to RBI, Large Public Sector banks, Centre for Banking Studies, Central Bank of Srilanka and Bangladesh Bank. He has co authored a text book on Project Finance published by Oxford University Press, besides publications in International Journals and articles in Financial dailies.

    • Vikas Srivastava has been appointed as ONGC Chair Professor for research in Financial Management at IIM Lucknow in November 2021.
    • Vikas Srivastava was awarded the Macro Research Award for the year 2013 by the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and has conducted a sponsored research project for TRAI, IFC Washington, ADB Manila and RBI.
    • He was also part of the team to develop material on SME financing and joint workshops with FSVC, Washington.
    • He has coauthored a text book on Project and Infrastructure Finance: A Corporate Banking Perspective published by Oxford University Press, in addition to a Monograph on “Financing Infrastructure Projects by Indian Banks” published by NIBM Publications and released by RBI.
    • His research papers on Credit Risk and Project Finance that have been published by Journal of Structured Finance and Journal of Bank regulation, besides others.
    • He is currently researching and writing on Distressed Debt Investments in India and has written cover stories for The Indian Banker besides opeds in Business Line and Financial Express.

    Vikas Srivastava teaches a core courses on Corporate Finance, besides electives on Project Finance, Structured Finance, Environmental Finance, Corporate Banking and Risk Management. He has taught as Visiting Faculty to IIM Jammu, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sirmaur, Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management,   College of Agricultural Banking Pune (RBI) and Bank of Baroda  Apex Training College at Baroda.

    • Doctoral Research Fellowship at Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration, Finland. (1999-2001)
    • Advanced Diploma in Management with specialization in Finance from All India Management Association. (2006)
    • MBA in Finance from Department of Business Administration, Lucknow University, 1994.

    Primary consulting areas include credit risk model building and Loan policy documentation. He was an  Advisor –Project Finance and Corporate Banking, Axis Bank Ltd. to write their Policy Manual for Infrastructure Finance Business. Reporting to President and Sr. V.P. He has handled consultancy assignment for Reserve Bank of India on “Corporate Governance in Selected UCB’s”. Successfully completed a consultancy assignment of Bangladesh Bank IPFF Cell (Central Bank of Bangladesh) – World Bank on PPP Projects and Infrastructure development in Bangladesh. Working on a consultancy assignment with Agriculture Research Foundation on PPP Projects and Financing Infrastructure. Conducted an assignment on Organizational Review and Restructuring of Abhyudaya Cooperative Bank, Mumbai.  Worked on Manpower Assessment of Bank of India. Involves visit to 11 zones and 100 branches of the bank. Report accepted by CMD.

    • Awarded the Macro Research Award for the year 2013 by the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
    • Dewang Mehta Award for Best Professor in Financial Management, 2013
