Introduction
The indomitable spirit of selflessness, courage and honesty and the motivation from within, of setting examples of highest standards of discipline, professionalism and service to the nation signifies the extraordinary psychological framework of the Officers of the Indian Armed Forces. The rock solid principles of discipline, time management, nationalism and patriotism are ingrained in them as the very culture of their lives. The Indian Armed Forces make every Indian proud. Changing times bring changing needs. After serving the forces, these officers need to re-orient their skills and attitude for second career post-retirement from the forces. The retirement can be either compulsory or by choice.
A combined initiative by Directorate General Resettlement, Ministry of Defence and Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML), a six month General Management Programme (GMP) for the Defence Officers is conducted at the Institute.
Objective
The objective of the programme is to facilitate smooth second career transition of the Defence Officers into the corporate world and familiarize them towards contemporary and emerging global management practices.
Duration
The GMP for Defence Officers at IIML (Lucknow or NOIDA campus) is spread over duration of 24 weeks and comprises five terms. Third term completion follows with a one week break

The Certificate will be awarded to such participants who in the judgment of the faculty have fulfilled all conditions and requirements for the same after the successful completion of all the five terms as per IIM Lucknow evaluation guidelines.
