Introduction

Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) in association with Kelley School of Business (KSB), Indiana University, USA is offering a one year part time Certificate Programme in Business Analytics for Executives (CPBAE).The Programme combines business strategy, business analytical tools and applications of analytics in selected business areas, namely finance, marketing and operations. Business analytics is the use of database queries, statistics, machine learning algorithms to find patterns of relationships between data elements in large and noisy data sets, which can lead to actions that accrue organizational benefits, for example, by reduction of costs, enhancement of revenue, and better management of business risks.

Programme Objectives

The purpose of this Certificate Business Analytics programme is to develop skills and a mind set for participants that will allow them to identify and seize business opportunities using business analytics tools.

• Be able to recognize some of the key issues for managerial considerations
• Be able to understand the overall process of business analytics
• Deep dive into the concepts of statistics and its application in analytics domain
• Get cognizant with the associated best-of-breed tools for business analytics

Hands-on exercises using, e.g., Excel, R, SAS JMP, Tableau and OR tools etc.

• Be able to use various operation research techniques in day to day work
• Gain insights of data mining and predictive analytics
• Applied analytics using SAS Enterprise Miner
• Be able to apply Operations Management Concepts to improve productivity
• Be able to understand and utilize concepts associated with simulation, artificial intelligence and various domain specific analytics models
• Get cognizant with the associated best-of-breed tools for business analytics

Key Features

• The programme is jointly taught by highly experienced faculty from IIM Lucknow, India and the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, USA.
• A combination of class room and an online learning platform is used for this programme. It offers flexibility since the participants can access the internet and attend online classes from any location.
• The programme has both residency module at IIM Lucknow and online learning channels, so that participants need not take long breaks from their work but at the same time get benefits of a continuous learning environment.
• Training on enterprise miner by SAS Institute (India) Private Limited.

Programme Delivery

The certificate programme consisting of 240 hours is divided into Five Modules. We have 3 Residency and 2 Online Modules in the programme. Each Residency Module consists of 8 days, starting from Saturday afternoon and ending in the forenoon of next Saturday. Online delivery will be via CANVAS course management system, the Kelley School of Business online learning platform. Online classes will be held twice per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays (2 hours each)

Module III - Predictive Modelling and Visual Analytics using SAS

Module IV - Simulation and Optimization for Business Analytics

Module V - Developing Value through Business Analytics Application

Academic Partners

• Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, USA (KSB)

Once a participant has successfully completed the certificate, they would be eligible to transition to either Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) degree programme or Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree programme at KSB and transfer the 12-credits from the certificate.

• SAS Institute (India) Pvt Ltd

Carries free certification attempt for:

• SAS Predictive Modelling Certification (Visual Business Analyst)
• SAS Business Visual Analyst Certification (Predictive Modeler)

Evaluation

Class performance will be based on following components:

• In-Residence Group projects
• Projects

• Assignments
• Written exams

Faculty members may choose a few or all above stated components. Typically evaluation load will be on 60% from individual performance and 40% from group performance.

Certification

On successful completion of this programme, participant will be awarded:

• Joint certificates from IIML and Kelley School of Business (KSB), Indiana University.
• A letter of appreciation and a separate certificate from KSB and
• A certificate of participation by SAS.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's or Post Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks
• Minimum of three years full-time post qualification work experience.

Alumni Status

• You will be an Executive Alumni of IIM Lucknow and Kelley Alum of Kelley School of Business after successfully completing the programme.

• Application Form, completed with self- attested photocopies of Qualification and Experience Certificates.

• Under-graduate/post graduate – concentration, CGPA (50%, 5/10)
• Personal Interaction (Interview)
