Prof. Sanjeet Singh joined IIM Lucknow in March 2020 as a Full Professor in
the Decision Sciences Area. Before his tenure at IIM Lucknow, he has served at
IIM Calcutta as a Professor in the Operations Management Group since 2016,
with 13 years of experience in various academic positions, including Assistant,
Associate, and Full Professor. His career also included serving as a Scientist at
DRDO from 2002 to 2006 and as a Lecturer at the University of Delhi from
2000 to 2002. In addition, he was a visiting faculty member at the University of
Waterloo, Canada, in 2012. He also attended the Global Colloquium on
Participant-Cantered Learning (GloColl) program in 2018 held at Harvard
Business School (HBS), Boston, USA.
Prof. Singh holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in
Operational Research at the University of Delhi. He was a Gold Medallist for
both his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. degrees. He always achieved the first position
in all his school exams. He qualified for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
and National Eligibility Test (NET) in Mathematical Sciences conducted by
UGC-CSIR.
His primary research interests span various areas, including Data Envelopment
Analysis, mathematical programming, sports Modelling, performance
evaluation of the education sector, bi-level programming, environmental
efficiency, and fuzzy optimization. His scholarly work has been published in
prestigious journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, European Journal of
Operational Research, Energy Economics, Annals of Operations Research,
Journal of the Operational Research Society, Journal of Cleaner Production,
and Applied Mathematics & Computation, among others. Prof. Singh has also
presented his research at renowned national and international conferences,
including EURO, INFORMS, IFORS, APORS, IDEA, and ORSI, across
numerous countries in Europe, Asia, Southeast Asia, America, and the Middle
East.
In addition to his academic contributions, Prof. Singh brings significant
administrative experience. He has held several leadership roles, including the
Convener of Common Admissions Test (CAT) 2023, Chairperson Admissions
(2022-24), and Area Chairperson of Decision Sciences Area (2021-23) at IIM
Lucknow, Chairperson of the Doctoral Programme and Research (2018-20), and
Chairperson of Admissions (2012-14), Area Chairperson of Operations
Management Area (2008-10) at IIM Calcutta.
Prof. Singh designed, taught, and directed short- and long-duration executive
education programs for middle- and senior-level managers in both private and
government organizations.
