IPMX

IPMX IIM Lucknow offers International Programme in Management for Executives or IPMX (One-year MBA) at its NOIDA Campus. This is a one-year residential programme designed for mid/ senior level professionals to prepare them for leadership roles. The programme was started in the year 2008 and is accredited by Association of MBAs (AMBA). A valid GMAT score is a prerequisite for applying to this programme.

IPMX provides the students with all aspects of business education in Indian as well as the international business environment. It accelerates understanding of business at functional and strategic levels and prepares students to manage enterprises engaged in global business. The curriculum focuses on a strategic understanding of business and is rooted in practical skill development through projects and industry interface.

IPMX is a rigorous program which provides ample opportunity for personal development and professional growth through an interactive learning environment. NOIDA being the hub of commercial and industrial activity, the locational advantage also plays an important role in the learning process. Industry-related assignments and real management contexts form an integral part of the course curriculum.

The specific objectives of the program are :

Our flagship program at IIM Lucknow - IPMX (The International Programme in Management for Executives) has consistently delivered on this front, since its inception in the year 2008. The programme is known for its academic rigor.

It is a proud moment for us to present the current and 12th batch of IPMX, which is an eclectic mix of experienced professionals from leading companies across industries such as Air Force, automotive, IT/ITES, BFSI, healthcare, energy, etc.; and functions such as consulting, manufacturing, marketing, sales, etc.

It is worth noting that owing to the demand for seasoned management professionals, the IPMX cohort has more than doubled in size compared to previous years. Peer learning this year is taking place amongst 101 experienced management professionals.

IPMX consists of 23.5 credits courses, which includes core courses of 14.5 credits, courses during the overseas module of 2 credits, and elective courses of 7 credits. One credit course consists of 30 hours of classroom contact hours. The program includes non-credit workshops of 40 hours. Thus, the total number of classroom contact hours is 745. (The Programme is open to executives of all nationalities. There is no fee for applying to the programme.)

  • Candidate fills and submit the application form online Application Form and upload the scanned copies of the documents in support of the attainments mentioned in Eligibility Criteria.
  • Completed Application Form must be submitted by November 15, 2019 for first phase and January 25, 2020 for the second phase.
  • Candidate provides the contact details with email ids of the recommenders. The suggested recommenders will receive an e-mail requesting them to submit the recommendation letters directly to the admissions office.
  • Based on GMAT scores, candidates are shortlisted for Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview;
  • After Writing Ability Test & Personal Interview are done, final score is calculated using following components:

    Personal Interview: 30%
  • Offer of admission is given based on the final score.

Q. What documents need to be submitted along with the Application Form?
A. The documents that need to be submitted along with the Application Form are:

  • A recent passport-sized photograph
  • A copy of the candidate’s GMAT score card
  • Copies of Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), Bachelor’s Degree Mark Sheet/Transcript
  • Experience certificates(s) from the candidate’s previous/current employer(s) (specific dates of joining and leaving the organization(s) need to be mentioned) OR Pay slips (First and Last) (Date of joining should be indicated)
  • Two Letters of Recommendation. When applying online, candidate provides the contact details with email ids of the recommenders. The suggested recommenders will receive an e-mail requesting them to submit the recommendation letters directly to the admissions office.
  • SC/ST/NC-OBC Certificate, if applicable
  • Certificate of disability, if applicable

Q. I have my own company. How can I choose my recommender?

A. You may ask a client, supplier or professional colleague with whom you have had a professional relationship, to be your recommender.

Q. Is there an upper age limit for applying to the program?

A. No, there is no upper age limit for applying to the program.

Q. Is GMAT compulsory?

A. Yes, GMAT is compulsory. We do not accept any other tests scores.

Q. What is the minimum acceptable GMAT score?

A. We do not specify a minimum GMAT score. The GMAT score is one of the criteria for evaluating a candidate. Some other criteria of evaluation include personal interview, professional experience, and leadership role, among many others.

Q. Should I submit my GMAT score card with the Application Form?

A. You need to submit the GMAT score card along with the Application Form. You should also inform GMAC. The code for IIM Lucknow is J39-VT-55.

Q. When will I know if I have been finally selected for IPMX 2019 - 20?

A. In case you have been selected we will inform you by email by the 3rd week of December 2018.

Q. In case I receive an admissions offer, and I am unable to join the Program, is the admission offer open to me for the next batch?

A. No. You will have to re-apply.

Q. Candidates from what kinds of organizations join the IPMX?

A. IPMX students represent a diverse group of participants. Successful candidates include those who have worked in the private sector, public sector, government departments, and NGOs (among others), and represent various professions including medicine, architecture, engineering, defence, civil service and entrepreneurship. Past and current students have academic training in various disciplines including science, commerce and the humanities

Q. Are there any seats reserved for company sponsored candidates?

A. We encourage sponsored candidates. Though, we do not have any reserved seats for such candidates.

Q. What are the selection process?

A. The selection process and eligibility criteria are mentioned under ADMISSION tab on IPMX page of IIM Lucknow website.

Q. If shortlisted, would I have to come to IIML NOIDA Campus for the interview?

A. Interviews will be held in major metro cities depending on the number of applications received from specific regions.

Q. What degree/diploma is offered on the completion of the programme?

A. A Post Graduate Diploma in Management for Executives is offered on the completion of the programme.

Q. What specialization does the IPMX offer?

A. IPMX has a general management focus. However, you have a choice of elective courses from which you could develop deeper understanding of various academic areas.

Q. What is the overseas module?

A. One full term of immersive experience at one of our partner business schools in Europe/ East Asia adds to the content of the program. The International Module is designed to enhance cross-cultural experience and broaden understanding of global management challenges. The international component comprises academic courses, workshops, industry visits and interactions with industry leaders.

Q. Does the Institute offer placement services?

A. The Career Development Services of the Institute facilitates in providing placement services for non-sponsored students. NOIDA provides great opportunities for interactions with leading practitioners in the industry, policy makers and thought leaders from private and public organizations, MNCs and industry bodies. Q. Will I get placement even if I am currently in a senior position with over 15 years of experience?

A. The institute will provide career services to candidates across all age-groups, and will enable candidates to network for career development and opportunities.

Q. What kind of accommodation does the Institute provide?

A. Students are provided accommodation in hostel in single occupancy rooms. Some family accommodations are also available and can be provided on FCFS basis for an additional charges of INR 2,00,000. Rooms are furnished and have adequate storage facilities as well as Wi-Fi network.

Q. What facilities are available on campus?

A. The IIML NOIDA Campus is located on 20-acres of land in Sector 62, NOIDA. The Campus has a state-of-the-art library, computer centre, classroom block, hostels, Wi-Fi network, and facilities for indoor and outdoor games. The Campus is in close proximity to commercial complexes, corporate offices, markets and is accessible to the NCR (National Capital Region) area.

Q. What is the total cost of the Programme?

A. The total cost is mentioned under Fee tab on IPMX page of IIM Lucknow website.

Q. Is there any bank loan facility for IPMX?

A. The State Bank of India has provided education loan facility to our past as well as current IPMX batches. IIML does not process any education loan facility directly or indirectly through any bank. The loan application process is between the candidate and the bank. The Institute plays no role either on behalf of the bank, or on behalf of the student.

The fee for IPMX: 2020 – 21 is INR 23,50,000 + refundable caution money of INR 30,000. The fee includes tuition fee, course material cost, food charges, computing & networking, library services, career counseling, students’ activities, alumni association, convocation, and basic accommodation facility on campus. The fee also includes the cost of academic inputs, travel, visa and stay during the overseas module. Expenses on food, local transport, internet, telephone, and stationery during the overseas module, would be borne by the student. A student may opt for a room with attached washroom for an additional charge of INR 60,000. Such rooms are available in limited number. There is a limited number of family accommodations available on campus for an additional charge of INR 125,000 per student.

At the time of giving the offer of admission to an applicant, a last date of withdrawal will also be announced. Any withdrawal from the programme by that date will attract INR 25,000.00 as processing fee and the remaining amount will be refunded. If the withdrawal request comes after the date of withdrawal, no money will be refunded. After joining the program, all paid fee installment amounts are non-refundable.

The world is ever-shrinking with continuously blurring lines between economies and countries. Global industry outlook requires managers with finely tuned skills and professional capability to excel in the new geo-economic world market. To facilitate the students with this need, IPMX has an overseas module, called as international immersion. Every year, IPMX students travel to partner universities across the globe where they get to interact with professors, students, and industry experts at a global level. The 12th batch of IPMX visited IESEG School of Management in Paris, France for its international immersion. They took courses on Emerging Technologies in Business, Big Data, Business Strategy and Tech Tools, amongst others during this overseas module. Students had some business visits to other European cities such as Brussels, Frankfurt, Geneva, and Luxembourg. IESEG School of Management is a post-bac business school in France, established in 1964 in Lille. It ranks 32nd in the Financial Times Masters in Management Ranking and 6th in the best Masters in Management in French Business Schools ranking. The students leveraged IESEG’s European identity to add critical insights to the business dimensions of international firms, cross-border mergers, and global workforce management, thereby empowering themselves with the tools needed to explore innovating means to collaborate and grow in a multi-cultural and multinational environment.

After the inception of IPMX in 2008, eleven batches are graduated. IPMX alumni today are serving with distinction in senior business positions across the globe and playing the influential roles in their organizations.

The IPMX program was an important milestone in my life. The intensity of the program, the breadth of coursework, and brilliance of the cohort prepared me to transition into a new domain and handle a variety of complex problems with ease. Having spent more than 7 years in the technology services industry, I had seen how technology is emerging as a key differentiator and source of competitive advantage for businesses. Already, the use of Big Data and Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Cloud Computing was creating strong impact across industries. This is the main reason why I wanted to move away from implementing technology systems to advising on the strategic implementation of new technology to create a long term business impact. The topic suggested by the Prof was “Effects of Monetary policy on equity Market”, and it was thoroughly focused on Applied Econometrics & advanced analytics. The study not only helped me to get my hands dirty, but also equipped me with so many priceless skills in the domain of Advanced Analytics. More than anything else, I got some friends for life, and some really knowledgeable professors as mentors for Lifetime.
